On Monday, 19 October 2026, the first online meeting with stakeholders from the Gorski Kotar area was held as part of the Interreg Euro-MED REVIVE project. The meeting was organised by members of the project team from the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism, Kristina Brščić, PhD, Katarina Breščić, PhD, Adriana Glavić and Teuta Benčić, with the aim of establishing cooperation with local stakeholders. Representatives of cities and municipalities, as well as various associations and organisations operating in the Gorski Kotar area, were invited to this initial meeting.
The REVIVE project focuses on developing innovative business models and promoting sustainable economic development in rural areas, with the emphasis on involving local stakeholders, strengthening cooperation, and exchanging knowledge and experiences.
During the meeting, the results of the project’s testing phase, in which innovative solutions were developed and tested in seven pilot areas across the Mediterranean, were presented. Participants were also introduced to the objectives and planned activities of the new transfer phase of the project, which began on 1 July 2026 and will continue until 31 March 2028.
The Institute of Agriculture and Tourism selected Gorski Kotar as a receiver territory for implementing the REVIVE project’s transfer activities. The main objectives include establishing cooperation, transferring knowledge, experiences and good practices developed during the previous phase, and exploring opportunities for their application in line with the needs and potential of Gorski Kotar. The cooperation also aims to increase the visibility of the area and its local initiatives at the international level, strengthen connections among local stakeholders, and facilitate the exchange of experiences with other Mediterranean areas.
Through the planned project activities, the Institute will provide support to local stakeholders and assist in developing ideas that can contribute to the revitalisation of Gorski Kotar.
