Montagna Pistoiese Food Community Showcased at “Ben Venga Maggio” Event in Cutigliano

04/05/2026

On May 2nd, as part of the “Ben Venga Maggio” events held in Cutigliano, Italy a dedicated day took place during which the Food Community of the Montagna Pistoiese presented itself and shared its story. The event also provided an opportunity to highlight the activities carried out by the REVIVE project in support of the Food Community.

National Association of Italian Municipalities, Tuscany and National Research Council illustrated the pathway that led to the creation of the Food Community, outlining the key initiatives developed over time. The event also featured the presentation of the Food Community’s website and the showcase of an immersive experience developed through VR headsets.

This immersive experience is based on the production of 360° videos, designed to present places and production processes in an engaging and innovative way. The aim is to create an authentic, technology-enhanced experience that connects digitalisation with rural development.

The immersive content will be used in restaurants and agritourism’s within the network through VR headsets, offering guests a truly multisensory experience. While enjoying a dish, visitors will be able to virtually “enter” the places where that product is created, discovering landscapes, producers, and production processes behind what they are tasting.

The experience will also be used during public events to engage audiences and narrate the territory, its traditions, and its identity.

In addition, the content will be available online, even without VR headsets. The videos will be integrated into a platform that allows users to explore the territory through a virtual map, and all materials will also be accessible via the Food Community’s website.
