REVIVE at MedLab Thematic Week 2026!

23/01/2026

On 22 January 2026, the REVIVE project proudly took part in the MedLab Thematic Week during the session “Empowering Mediterranean People Through Skills and Learning.”
Representing the project, Dr. Eudokia Balamou from Larnaca and Famagusta Districts Development Agency, Lead partner of the project, shared key insights from our work across Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Spain, Slovenia, Croatia, and North Macedonia.

What we highlighted

Across the Mediterranean, rural areas face similar challenges:

  • A strong digital skills gap and a persistent digital divide
  • Limited capacity in local authorities, SMEs and community organisations
  • Skills mismatches in green, circular and digital sectors
  • Fewer training opportunities and ongoing depopulation
  • Fragmented governance and limited cooperation

These challenges are shared and that’s why cooperation matters.

How REVIVE is making a difference

REVIVE is implementing practical solutions to strengthen skills and support rural transformation, including:

  • Digital skills trainings & hands‑on workshops for SMEs and local producers
  • immersive digital technologies to promote local products and heritage
  • Peer‑learning exchanges with Mediterranean partners
  • The new Mediterranean Digital Innovation Hub Platform, gathering tools and data for long‑term innovation
  • Co‑design sessions that empower communities to build their own business models
  • The creation of the REVIVE Cluster of Innovative Community Cooperatives for lasting support.

A warm thank you to Interreg TESIM NEXT, our project partners, and everyone who contributed to an inspiring and meaningful session.
