AETIB together with DG Agriculture of the Balearic Islands regional government organised on 26th and 27th November, 2025 two-day workshops with the aim of strengthening collaboration between the agricultural and tourism sectors of the Balearic Islands and creating synergies that promote a more authentic, diversified, and sustainable tourism.
The event brought together producers, tourism companies, chefs, restaurateurs, and cooperatives from all the islands with the aim of facilitating the incorporation of local products into the gastronomic value chain of the Balearic Islands. The initiative is part of the Balearic Islands’ Food and Wine Plan, funded with Next Generation funds through AETIB.
AETIB Director during his opening speech emphasized that collaboration between the agricultural and tourism sectors is essential. With workshops and initiatives like REVIVE Euro-MED project, we are taking another step forward: we are connecting not only what tourists can see, but also what they can taste. Tourism is increasingly seeking experiences linked to the local area, and local products are a key element.
The event included presentations, round tables, workshops, and spaces for direct interaction between producers and tourist establishments. MCC and AETIB placed QR codes on several tables to allow the hundred-forty participants to be able to see the immersive experiences developed within REVIVE project for Pla de Mallorca area.
With this first edition, the Balearic Islands reaffirm its commitment to promoting local products as a strategic element of tourism differentiation and to strengthening the primary sector as a guarantor of sustainability, quality, and identity of the Balearic Islands territory.
