14/11/2025

At the Technical and Steering Committee Meeting in Mallorca, Spain conducted from 11-12th November, 2025, REVIVE project partners explored several inspiring local initiatives, including the Balearic product brand, a regional quality label supporting local producers; Mallorca Organic Lamb-promoting sustainable livestock farming and the Numibia digital platform, which connects local producers with the HORECA sector under the motto “Purchasing with Consciousness”.

During the meeting partners presented their progress in developing solutions for immersive and digital experiences.

Evaluation of REVIVE pilot area activities will focus among others on the transferability of the project approach and methodology in other Interreg Euro-MED Programme areas.

The REVIVE Technical and Steering Committee Meeting concluded with an inspiring study visit! Partners explored the pilot area of Pla de Mallorca, discovering great examples of how local heritage and sustainable practices bring value to the territory from the Archaeological Museum of Son Fornés and the sanctuaries of Nostra Senyora de Cura, Nostra Senyora de Gràcia, and Sant Honorat, to the organic Terragust Agrofarm and the beautiful Treurer Estate agritourism.

The Mancomunitat del Pla de Mallorca brings together the 14 municipalities located in the heart of the island and works for the shared management of services, economic revitalisation and the promotion of the natural, cultural and tourist heritage of the territory. Its participation in the REVIVE project reinforces the commitment to a sustainable, innovative development model based on cooperation.

The president of the Mancomunitat, Joana Maria Pasqual, highlighted the importance of this European project, “this event marks the beginning of a new phase of collaboration, innovation and commitment to the future of our territory. The Pla de Mallorca has a challenge: to diversify the economy, encourage rooting and promote quality tourism, respectful of the environment and our way of life. The REVIVE project offers us an excellent opportunity to make this possible.”

The welcome ceremony was held at the Son Fornés museum, with speeches by Pedro Vidal, regional secretary of Culture and Sports of the Balearic Government; Joana Maria Pasqual, president of the Mancomuntat Pla de Mallorca; Paula Amengual, mayor of Montuïri and Joan Cifre, manager of the Mancomunitat de Mallorca.

During the day, the participants visited various emblematic areas of the Pla de Mallorca, such as Cura, Gràcia and Sant Honorat, and were able to learn about experiential and gastronomic tourism initiatives, with stops at Terragust and the Treurer estate, where a tasting of local products was offered.

REVIVE is an inter-regional cooperation project funded by the Interreg Euro-MED programme, under the Sustainable Innovative Economy Mission for the revitalisation of the inland rural areas of the Mediterranean.
