AETIB, together with Mallorca Chamber of Commerce and the General Directorate of Agri-food Quality and Local Product of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, have recently visited Garden Hotels to learn first-hand about Nubia Market, an innovative digital platform created by this hotel chain which integrates circularity and conscious purchasing criteria as differential values. This digital marketplace facilitates the transition to sustainability and strengthens economic links between agriculture and tourism facilitating direct sales and market access of local producers with tourism businesses. Suppliers are selected taking into consideration ecological criteria, local production origin and sustainability indicators.
The visit to Garden Hotels is part of REVIVE project of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme which aims to improve the competitiveness of inland areas through collaboration between economic sectors and the implementation of innovative solutions and business models.
The pilot project in Balearic Islands will try to improve the economic resilience of the pilot area by improving market access for local producers with tourism businesses in order to explore new lines of collaboration using digital solutions. AETIB and Mallorca Chamber of Commerce have the collaboration of Mancomunitat Pla de Mallorca, a union of 14 municipalities in the center of Mallorca, where the pilot will be developed to improve the competitiveness, sustainability and the integration of new technologies of the tourism companies of this area.
