From March 19 to 21, 2025, REVIVE project partners and stakeholders convened in Tuscany for the Transnational Pilot Exchange Workshop and Field Visits. The event commenced on March 19 with a workshop in the Pistoiese Apennines, where action plans from seven pilot areas were shared, and insights into local community initiatives were gained.
Subsequent study visits provided firsthand experiences of sustainable food production and the natural and cultural heritage of the Pistoiese mountains. A highlight was meeting the newly established food community within the REVIVE project, emphasizing the region’s commitment to sustainable practices.
The event concluded on March 21 with a guided tour of Florence’s Central Market, showcasing exemplary valorization of local food and the efficacy of short supply chains connecting internal areas with the region’s capital.
This gathering underscored the collaborative efforts of the REVIVE project in fostering innovative community-based business models to boost the socio-economic development of Mediterranean internal areas.
