On September 23rd, a meeting with stakeholders from the pilot area of the REVIVE project was held at the “Nonno Cianco Restaurant” in Cutigliano, Italy. The event was organized by the partners ANCI and CNR-IBE, in collaboration with the associated partner GAL Montagna Appennino. More than 20 stakeholders, including operators of agritourism, farms, restaurants, and leisure and hospitality structures attended the meeting.
The main goal of the event, besides fostering dialogue and exchange among local operators, was to discuss the creation and development of the Montagna Pistoiese Food Community. The meeting began with a brief presentation of the REVIVE project and its opportunities, led by Valentina Marchi (CNR-IBE) and Anna Maria Bondi (ANCI). Stefano Stranieri (Director of GAL MontagnAppennino) then outlined the legal framework for establishing the Food Community, before passing the floor to Franca Bernardi (President of the Food and Agrobiodiversity Community of Garfagnana). She shared her experience in creating the food community in the inner area of Garfagnana (Tuscany, Italy).
The presentation of Franca Bernardini provided participants with insights into the process of creating another Food Community, offering practical as well as theoretical guidance for developing the Montagna Pistoiese Food Community. She shared her experience since 2017, highlighting the challenges, difficulties, and opportunities encountered over the past seven years.
The stakeholders expressed great interest in this moment of exchange, considering it an important step in laying the groundwork for future meetings and defining the next steps for the development of the Montagna Pistoiese Food Community.
