The Second REVIVE Meeting of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme is organized on the Island of Leros, in the Dodecanese archipelago, Greece.
REVIVE partners presented the pilot target areas of the project together with stakeholders from these areas. Main topics for discussion focused on the implementation of activities within four working packages, emphasizing community-based collaborative economy business models and innovation in the Mediterranean internal areas.
In the scope of the Second REVIVE Team Meeting, the Study Visit at “The Caserma of Herbs” was conducted. The Caserma of Herbs created by the Social Cooperative Ltd. of the Dodecanese Mental Health Sector in Koulouki, Leros, is a facility that combines agricultural activities with social and therapeutic purposes. Such initiatives often provide valuable work and social opportunities for individuals with mental health challenges, promoting inclusion and well-being. The activities of the farm are the cultivation of aromatic medicinal plants as well as the development of an innovative center for the protection and reproduction of bees.
The second visit was organized to the “Leros Cheese Factory”, where the participants had the opportunity to learn how local goat and sheep milk cheeses enriched with herbs from the island are produced, and then they had chance to taste them.
